About the role
Square Peg Capital is looking to hire a Portfolio Analyst in Melbourne.
We are hiring this role to deepen our analytical capability and our understanding of both new and current portfolio companies, with a focus on later stage and listed holdings.
This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to build an intimate understanding of our investment process and profile by working closely with the investment team on decision-making.
On a day-to-day basis, the Portfolio Analyst would work across the following areas:
Conducting analysis on new and current portfolio companies to understand what drives value and contribute these insights to investment decisions, with a specific focus on larger and later stage businesses
Drive analysis for decision-making on portfolio companies about to IPO and those that are already listed
Drive the process and thinking on valuation of our portfolio companies, as well as be responsible for managing data on portfolio metrics and financing rounds.
The successful applicant will have:
5 years or more of fundamental investing experience, with an understanding of listed markets
Relevant tertiary qualifications ideally complemented with CFA Level 1 or equivalent post-graduate study
Expertise in valuations of different types of businesses with different growth and margin profiles
An understanding of the drivers of value and economics of tech businesses (i.e., software, marketplaces)
