Sage Mellet

We're one global team but we've got our own stories. Here's what makes us tick.

Why did you want to join the SP team?

As a founder myself, I have always admired the ethos of Square Peg. Investing in exceptional founders and people is core to SP. Joining the team has only made that more evident to me. Even though I have just finished my degree, I understand that my learning journey is not over, so being surrounded by people who are inherently curious and continuously learning is something that I am grateful to be a part of here at SP.

What advice do you live by?

"What others think of you is none of your business." I found it difficult to block out the noise when I began my founder journey. The nature of building a brand in the public eye can cause outside people to have their (unwarranted) two cents. I often got caught up in people's opinions of my brand, whom I didn't even know or who didn't know the company's vision. Knowing which feedback is valuable and which is not is key to moving forward and progressing in your founder journey.

What environment do you thrive in?

"I thrive in environments where interpersonal relationships are prioritised. I get energy from people around me and hope to continue to work in spaces where human connection is at the centre of what we do (like Square Peg!)"

What’s your passion outside of work?

"Being the only girl out of four children, I have always craved to be surrounded by strong, empowered females. At the age of 20, I decided to make this craving a reality. My best friend and I launched Peach Pack – an online community centred on empowering females to talk about typically taboo topics. Although Peach Pack is considered work, I am proud to say that my work is synonymous with my passion. We now have a podcast, and Instagram page with thousands of women coming together to take ownership over their womanhood. You can also find me jamming out with my band in my spare time 😊"

Where did you learn the most in your career?

"Whilst finishing my degree, I created an online brand, Peach Pack. Over the past 3 years I have learnt how to build a company based on my core values and build a community from the ground up. This experience has been invaluable to me; I have learned the importance of prioritising my values in the workplace and creating a culture that you can be proud of."
