What's with the green icons?

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules and they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. But the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.” – Steve Jobs, 1997

Taking inspiration from Apple’s ad campaign in the late 90’s, the founding team of Square Peg named the company, with a slight twist. Round peg didn’t have quite the same ring to it, but the sentiment behind it remained.

We believe all our founders and team members are extraordinarily unique and we wanted to represent that in a way that is befitting what we do. We came up with the idea of many many different square pegs with round holes. Every new team member, founder and company gets the chance to design their own custom Square Peg logo and have it displayed on the website. A subtle nod to our square pegs in a world full of round holes.

In early 2020 we decided to check-in with and update our team purpose vision and values. During those discussions many things were changed and updated to better suit the company culture today, however, one aspect we were most proud of was the logos.

At Square Peg we value individuality, curiosity and a passion to make a difference. One of our core values is ‘be yourself’. The logos offer the platform to showcase individuality whilst also staying connected to the broader Square Peg community. We are the square pegs in a world full of round holes.
